Maintaining hair?

Once my hair grows out, to the way I want it to be and its yea. How do I go about maintaining it?

Like when it gets to long, how would I get it back to the right le ngth.. etc..

And to be completely honest, the only place ive ever gone to get my hair cut, is super cuts. Not a styling place or what ever, I actually dont know were one is.. and probably to shy to go to one.
