I got my bangs cut, into sideswept bangs which ive had before but my hairdresser cut them too short. so im waiting for them to grow out a bit which shouldnt take too long. but is there anyway i can hide them or blend them in with the rest of my hair? and what are some trendy styles that i can do by clipping them back while they grow out?

depending on how short they are, you could do different things...

and first, you should just either clip them to the side, or underneath the rest of your hair...

when they start to get longer, you should pull them back like you are going to do a poof and use a cute clip(like a bow or something) to hold it back.

Mine just got pretty short too. But it is easy, get some bobby pins, depending on how thick your hair is start out with 3 and use more is nessacery. Pull your bangs up with your hands and place them pulled back tightly ontop of your head. Make sure there are no bumps now take your bobby pins and pin it down. now put the rest of your hair in a pony tail, pig tails, leave it down and it will still look good!

Thats what I did with my hair about a year ago. LOVED IT. It was so different than what I had and I got a ton of compliments. The only thing is that you have to keep it trimmed, because when it starts growing out it gets bottom heavy and looks really weird. So as long as you don't mind the upkeep, I say do it. If all else fails, hey hair grows back.

I'm very similar to you except I'm Asian with a round face. I used to have long long straight hair and was scared of cutting it short because I thought it would make my face look rounder. But I finally got enough courage to get it cut ultra short and it looked fabulous! Haha.. everyone loved it. the short layering around my face actually makes my cheeks look smaller and shows off my neck. check out my picture below.

When I first started out, my mom bought me the book "Haircutting for dummies" and it's a pretty good book! It teaches you how to cut hair just like they teach you in school. Also, you can actually buy the textbook that my school uses at books a million or barnes and noble. It's a little more expensive though. It's called "Milady's Standard Cosmetology".

I had long hair that I would straighten and wash once a week. I am a working Mum and don't have time to style it everyday. I wanted something just below my shoulders and with a bit of movement in it, but still needed to be able to wear it up.

I ended up with a short style (about 10 cm's too short) which I can barely scrape up into this miniscle bun and I need clips to hold it back. My hairdresser knew full well I only did my hair once a week and now I have to do it nearly everyday, apart from the fact that I detest it and am borderline depressed over it. The colour has also faded off and it has only been in two weeks.

Should I go somewhere else and get them to fix it and never go back there? Or ring back, complain and get them to do something with it and re colour it? I don't want this girl ever touching my hair again (it's not the first time she has done an average job) so it will be really uncomfortable for everyone if another hairdresser from there starts doing my hair.

I would talk to the owner/manager of the shop and let them know your disatisfaction. They deserve to know customers' feelings about their employees.

first of all, don't let the new shortness of your hair stress you...it will grow back in time. if i were you, i'd ask my hairdresser why he/she cut my hair so short when he/she knew i'd only be doing it once a week. talking helps a lot....and maybe you can look up some pictures on the internet of some nice short hairstyles that don't take much time to get. good luck with your new hair

Well I would say if you have been going there for 18 months then there has to be some kind of relationship that has built between you two. I would definitely go back to him/her and tell them that how you hated the cut and that the color was fading, and get if fixed for very little or free. Then, if they're not willing to help you out. Move on to someone else. Because obviously then that would mean that they care about is making money and not the happiness of the customer, and believe me, there are some really good hairdressers out there that actually do care about how the customer feels.

hmm. I know what you mean I had a hairdresser cut my hair in a bob even tough I didn't request it, He said he thought this style suites me best. I was very P%$##$ off. Ring the salon and complain to the manager and ask for arefund then say you will never go there again and you will tell everyone you know to never go there again unless she gets rid of this stupid girl ( only say those things when you get your refund). Then go to a good salon and get your hair fixed and wait for it to grow back. If yo go there and get them to fix it they might do an even worse job out of spite just don't risk going there again.

Not that it matters but I'm guessing you tipped her anyway didn't you? We all do that because we think it's mandatory.

Try a good conditioner to make your hair smooth and then use some foam to calm your hair down. Mine is thick also and wavy, I make it straight almost all the time. It looks professional and ellegant this way.

get it spear cut. It's really hard to explain, but here goes. It's simular to slicing with scissors but instead of dragging the scissors through the hair you make very tiny and quick cutting motions as you go through the hair. This allows you to cut the hair how you want it to sit and also thins and makes it more shaggy and whispy. I wish i could cut it for you myself! Best of luck. Nice do too! by the way if you do go to the hairdresser don't ask for them to thin it out with thinning scissors! They're really the most horriblist thing invented! Seriously spear cut!!!!! And make sure you find a hairdresser that know what it means!

Blow dry your hair and style with a brush to get it a little straight. Then take a large curling iron and loosly curl the bottom of the hair. If you use just a little promade on each strand before curling it'll keep each curl a little separate giving it that messy kinda curly look. Good luck!

It's hard to duplicate a cut/style exactly as seen in pictures..but you should try the shampoos for curly/wavy hair first, also the condtioners that go with them, Vive and Sunsilk are two names that I can think of right off the bat....use them before you get your hair cut, and again when you shampoo next; it helps keep the bulk down a little, and by the way DO NOT , I repeat, DO NOT get your hair thinned!!!! In fact, don't even THINK about it!! you will end up with lots of little standup/standout hairs and it'll drive you crazy!! You are really pretty! If you are preppy, and want a change, then you could dye your hair a dark brown, or get low lights. As for cutting your hair, you could get it cut short, but no shorter then shoulder length. You could get straight across bangs. Or even a different color tip, like pink or blue or something. I'm not an expert, i am just giving my opinion.

From your pics I would say you have a Rectangular or oblong face shape.

well, i have curly hair first off. a round face. my hair now, when its curly, is a couple inches below my shoulder. very basic, thinned out cut with a face frame and side-swept bangs. its getting pretty boring. i pull it back in a pony tail everyday, because when i leave it down, its very....big. but overall my curls are pretty nice and managable with about 5 minutes and some hair gel. im moving away to college in a few months too. im kind of done with the pony tail days and looking for something kinda simple, chic, and sophisticated i can fix in a few minutes and go. thats pretty much my style. any ideas would be wonderful!! thanks!! =] http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a176/b... if it helps any, thats a picture of myself. =]

It depends on where you live. Paul Mitchell is a fantastic school, but you can go through your local community college to get the degree too, that's really cheap. Whatever you do, avoid any Elite schools, the have like 20 lawsuits against them.

With whatever style you choose, try using a tight head scarf at night or while doing household chores. My hair is long and very curly and gets frizzy. But, all I have to do is wear a plain old scarf in a triangle tied in the back of my head for about two hours and presto, it's silky soft and no more kinkiness. Stays that way, too, until I wash it again. Then, it's back to every-which-way curls.

you should definately get your hair trimmed regularly. that wil pevent the knotting. and use a good conditioner.

After you shampoo, take a warm glass of filtered water with 1 tablespoon vinegar and use it as a final rinse. It really does make your hair smooth and shiny. Works for me!

To prevent the knotting:

When u r washing your hair and you apply conditioner, use a medium wide teeth comb to comb the conditioner thru your hair before u rinse.

well i wouldnt perm it that makes it thin and staight like every bodi elses hair and girl you want to be original! to keep it from knotts you should braid it into four or three every night. thats what i do but i have black hair and the results might be different for different texured hair. Put some voluming mousse in your hair after towel drying it, alcohol free is better on the hair, and buy a diffuser that fits on the end of your blow dryer. It does not blow the hair around, it diffuses the air so you can hold it in one place and scrunch (squeeze handfulls at a time) your hair while drying it. You can hold your head upside down and dry and scrunch also, that adds volume! Then after,set it with some scrunching spray like L'oreal or the Aussie scrunch spray. For sure you should try the diffuser!

Well...one thing thats easy to do and can be changed around to various styles..is to straighten your hair before you go to sleep...then in the morning just run the straightener over it again to make it look more straight (I straighten it at night because then it makes things go faster in the moring) and then put half my bangs up and half down...or put in a a pony tail with bumped bangs or messy bun...theres a lot of different ways....another thing i do is I french-braid my hair before bed into two pigtails and sleep with them in and then in the morning i take them out and use some mousse, gel, and hairspray to make it looked srunched..and it only takes about 5 mintues!! and you can also do a lot with that look too!! kk.so ive been growing my hair out 4 locks of love.my hair stylist told me that shes sent n less than 10 inches b4 and its been accepted.ive been growing it out 4 a while and im starting 2 get lots of split ends and my hair gets really stringy and frizzy.right now i can easily cut 8 inches to shoulder length.everyone says i wait and do 10 but by the time it gets 2 10 only 8 will be usable anyways.and either way i will have 2 cut it 2 shoulder lenght.the only problem is that i cant find a style i like that goes w/ my hair type.i have thin/average dark brown hair.i dont mind straightening or blow drying w/ or w/o a diffuser.i also have thick eyebrows that can ruin sum short styles.i was wondering if any one could find a cute style 4 me.

You should just cut off 10 inches now. 2 inches isn't going to make much of a difference to your hairstyle anyways, and you can't know for sure if locks of love will accept it less than 10 inches this time.

my hair was soooooooooo short, I hated it, I was like 8, so it was okay i guess. wait to cut it though, when I got it cut it was a minimum of 10 in to send it in, it might have changed, but I dought it.

you can try a ponytail and put it in a bun shape with bobby pins. it makes a really cute messy bun, I use it all the time.

there are also special shampoos and such to fix split ends.

My hair has been very long, shoulder length and is now very short. When it was very long, I wore it braided. I made the mistake of thinking if I relaxed it, it would give me more variation. Big mistake, my hair grows fast and needing touchups every 3 weeks. I got tired of all the expense involved and the waiting at the salon. I cut it all off and then let it grow out naturally wearing it twisted for a long time. I got tired of that because I had to keep a head band on to keep it out of my face. On a whim, I cut it short. I do not even own a comb at this point. I just wash apply a leave in conditioner and go. without the curling irons, blow dryers and other assaults on my hair, the ringlets I had as a baby have returned and my hair is shiny and soft.

Frizz Ease by John Frieda is a lifesaver!

Always rinse with the coldest water you can stand after using a shampoo and conditioner for straight hair. The cold water "locks down" the hair cuticle and makes hair appear slicker, less frizzy.

Use a weekly home remedy "hair mask." My hair dresser told me about this one and I have been hooked ever since. Mix one egg to one part mayo and one part olive oil. Make a paste and apply to hair. Wrap hair in a towel and allow to work at least 30 minutes. Rinse out and shampoo and condition as usual. Hair will have a smooth, shiny appearance.

Blow dry methodically. This can take practice and time, but it is worth it. Use a big round brush that will allow you to smooth your hair as you dry. Always blow in a downward motion. Running the dryer over hair up and down causes the cuticle to frizz and split. Divide hair into sections with curler pins and dry one section at a time.

My son is only four months old and was born with a serious amount of hair. We love his hair but it does this insane stick up thing right on one side of his head and looks a little crazy. I don't want to cut it yet but I'm not sure what I could use to style it that would be natural enough for him and still hold. I have tried aloe vera gel and it doesn't hold it well enough. How about half up half down, but with a bit of volume.

Separate as you would to put half up, but back comb/tease it a little in the under layers. Gently pull back and clip up ensuring you push it up a little to give more volume.

Or a quiff... Putting a quiff in your hair can make a lot off difference.

Or... a neat ballerina bun. Possibly with a cop stick through it for a funky edge.

Or you could do something so simple as to change where your parting lies, tonnes of people will notice you have done something to your hair.

The easiest is just to slip it to the side, looking cute and girly while looking slightly sexy.

Side pony tails often leave a big impression because not alot of people tend to wear them anymore.

Check out cat walks for the latest hair styles and just tone them down. Also look at what other girls are doing, and copy but add a clip or a alice band for a unique look

Now, stop plucking those eyebrows and stop the brat pout. It puts little pouches at the sides of your mouth.

If you want fuller looking lips, puff your cheeks out with air and let it blow out your mouth, then relax your mouth.

For your hair, I wouldn't do the blond. Think about a warm brown with auburn highlights. Get some light layers to add swing and movement.

If you like change! I always get my hair layered and i really like it that way...but thats me. So if you think it would look good. And if you're comfortable with change, because it might shock you if you're not! My suggestion is to get it cut up to your shoulders and get layers. Also get it tapered around your face - i always think that looks good!

it depends on the thickness and how it gets layed.

like, if your hair is really super-thin then layers can make it even thinner and limp :( but when its thick layers will give it lots of bounce and its great!

also, sometimes layering can be done waaay too much...so it almost looks like a mullet yuk :P

but, i actually think layering can look really great and its so easy to manage!! so go for it!! it'll be fun ^.^

Well you should if you want to try something new. A layered cut would look good for someone with long, thick hair. So maybe you should try it out.

For layers you really do have to have medium to thick hair. If you have a really hard time getting volume, then layers may not be the best idea. Simply because you're hair will look kinda limp. If you do have really good volumized hair, go for it. Be careful on the layers though. Some hairdressers will give you a mullet kind of look. Just ask your hairdresser for a lots of varied layers, and thinning in the longest length.

I'll be honest and say I was terrified of layers until May of 07. My Senior year was coming in fast and I was tired of looking like EVERY OTHER GIRL!! Layers give you a sense of individuality because NO ONE has the same layers you will!

I have very similar. Talk to your stylist but try some tips at home:

~Find a good conditioner. Don't just slap a LOT of conditioner up there and hope for the best. Have enough to cover your hair and let it sit. (Maybe like shave your legs while you wait).

~Rinse your hair in cold water (it locks the ends)

~Find a style that works for you

Layer it to make it not so thick. Use Suave conditioner in large quantities to get out the knots (it is cheap and works).

Go to a pro. I have long, wavy hair with the consistency of a horse's tail...my stylist works her magic with potions and hairdryer gymnastics and when I leave it feels like silk and is totally straight. Try a salon, not a hair cuttery or one of those places. It costs more, buy you are worth it!

if u dont want to cut or color ure hair u can try wearing it in different styles. u can part ure hair at the side instead of middle, u can wear it up, in a ponytail. u can also bring it back from both sides but still have it out, so that its not in ure face. if ure hair is long enough u can also try to braid it. u can even curl it. there is soo much u can do with ure hair, u jus have to experiment with it. good luck!

HAIR CHALLENGED!! need help desperately! PLEASE?

I went tonight to get my hair cut short (had pic in hand to show HOW i wanted it, well that's not what I got) I do not know what to do with my hair, how to style it nothing. I am VERY hair challenged, only thing I am good at is ponytails.Here's what I am up against. OK the hair closest to my neck is the shortest at about 2in. the top is about 4in. (it hits the top of my cheek bone) But the change in length is not gradual it goes from being about 2in all the way to top of my head and theres a 4in. layer sitting on top of it. She also gave me "side swept" bangs that are to short to do them side swept and too long to do straight across forehead. My hair is SUPER EXTREMELY thick. (i cant stress that enough) I think it would be cute if I could have the back tossled kinda flipped out and teh top layer flat ironed, I can't figure out how to do that (flip) and when I tried flat ironing the whole thing since top too short it looks HORRIBLE. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me. Holidays coming :-((

Flipping out with a straightener should work no matter the length at the top. Just take it layer by layer starting with the longest. Put the rest up into a half pony so you can easily access it, then let a little down and do that, then a little more, and so on. If the straightener isn't working out for you buy some type of styling wax (I suggest garner fructis) and take piece by piece and mold it the way you want the hair to go. Take the ends and pull them outward, take the top layer and pull it straight down. Remember, it will take practice. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't work at first. PRACTICE IS KEY. It's interesting and very daring. It's true you have to have the right shaped face for it,for sure. A round or full face probobly wouldn't work. are you prepared for the every day up keep? If you have curly/frizzy hair you will have to straighten it with a hot straightener,on a regular/daily basis and because of that you will need to deep condition,often. Are you up for all the maintenance involved in a style like that?

Ok i'm planning on getting a haircut but I can't decide how to cut it. My hair is about 2in. past my shoulders and is straight. Except for colour, they all look pretty much the same. They are all long, layered dos that are blown dry then flat ironed straight. Or a larg barrel curling iron used to give some curl.

I noticed in that last pic that her hair was very damaged from colouring and flat iron use. Something to think about. If you don't have naturally poker straight hair, that do will take a lot of time and work to upkeep.

But it is a pretty look, if that is what you want. :)

try a triple barrel iron!! and where it down or you can try curling it in little sections with a 1 inch curling iron and spraying them seperately so they dont blend in together and remeber to alternate the way you are curling!!!it will help give you loose shakira curls or like jessica simpson!!

My natural hair is very very wavy and pretty thick. Should I cut my relaxed hair short and let it grow out from there. Or should I keep the length my hair has already and just let it grow out from there. My hair is down to my collarbones. And wile it is growing out natural I like the idea of being able to pull it back.

i grew out my hair natural and it took me a little less than 3 years, as did my current hair stylist also, but i think it was soo worth it. Ideally, you should try to wash your hair every day or every other day, and scrunch it with gel or mouse. That's what i did and i thought my hair got natural faster. and get your ends trimmed frequently.

First off, congrats on being PREGNANT. Secondly, what type of hair do you have now? Straight, curly, thick or thin, and the length of your hair?

FYI: sometimes longer hair is actually easier to maintain since you can just throw it up. Shorter styles take time to style since you just can't throw up your hair and walk out the door.

Talk to your stylists. She/he can hook you up with a good cut. Don't go to a great stylist? Splurge a little and make an appointment at a good salon. It is worth every penny.

One guy I used to see before he relocated gave me a great somewhat short haircut that only required me to put a little gel or styling cream in it and it would air dry into a perfectly curled under bob that grew out well. LOVED IT! a great stylist can give you a cut that lasts and will require little work. Be upfront with what you want and they will give you a cut that works for your face and amount of effort you want to give.

I think there are many styles which can be very easily maintaied during a stressful time such as pregnancy. My two favorite would be a pixie (if you have the faceshape for it) and an A-line cut at your collarbone because then you can still pull it back slightly. Check out the link below.

Go to the barbers and ask for a short back and sides, but ask them to leave the front.

If your fringe is rubbish now as well as the rest, then ask them to 'Taper A Leaf' as a fringe.
